Robin leaps into Arkham City as a exclusive pre order bonus

The boy wonder makes his debut in Batman Arkham City; coming in as a pro order bonus from Best Buy but which Robin will this be Dick Grayson or Tim Drake?

A post bt Best Buy on Arkhamcity.co.uk reports that Robin will indeed be playable in the upcoming Arkham City, so far we know he will be playable in two of the games challenge maps. We still don’t know what other retailers will be offering but I can’t imagine another pre order character considering we will have three so far, Batman Catwoman and Robin.

With Robin as a pre order bonus it seems almost certain that he will be appear in the story of Arkham City but importantly will he be playable in that story? Catwoman has already been confirmed to be playable in the story so it is possible Robin could see some action.

The inclusions of Robin in Arkham City might help to breathe new life into the character allowing people’s perception of the character to change. As many who do not read, the comics have a pre-determined image of Robin that is a total contrast to the modern day image of Robin.

Another big question is ‘who is Robin?’ it could possibly be Dick Grayson or Tim Drake, out of the two I would have to go with it being Tim Drake seeing as Oracle is firmly fixed in this Batman universe and Dick Grayson came before both of them. That also brings up another point, if it is Tim Drake, will Nightwing show up at some point in Arkham City or even as another playable character?

With the impressive E3 showing and this recent news, Rocksteady are packing in a lot of content for Arkham City, which looks to raise the bar once again.

Following on from the confirmation of this pre order bonus Best Buy have recently put up an image of Robin from Arkham City which can be seen below and it is in fact Tim Drake.

Robin fits into Arkham City nicely featuring similar body armour to the Dark Knight. I'm not to sure about the short hair but I guess for this universe it suits, overall the it is a nice look but what do you think of this new design for the boy wonder?

While supplies last, pre-order the game for an exclusive downloadable Robin character. Robin is a fully playable character in the new and improved challenge mode in Batman: Arkham City. The Tim Drake Robin pack is available exclusively to fans who pre-order the game from Best Buy on Xbox 360, PC and PS3. 

Robin comes complete with his own unique gadgets and special moves, and will be playable in all challenge maps in the game, as well as two additional challenge maps that are included with the pack: Black Mask Hideout and Freight Train Escape. 

The pack will also contain a bonus Red Robin character skin.
