Flashpoint June 22 Reviews

The latest reviews for this weeks Flashpoint titles which include Kid Flash Lost #1,Reverse Flash #1, Lois Lane and the Resistance #1 and The Outsider #1
    Kid Flash Lost #1

Another great tie to the Flashpoint series, Kid Flash Lost starts of with Bart Allen and his grandfather racing around the world but something is odd about the world and his grandfather. He certainly is not in the central city he knows.
The issue is great with solid to great writing with plenty of twists and turns that will keep you guessing till the very end, the story never lets up something is always happening which just keeps building till the very end. Some surprising individuals show up throughout the issue, which leaves you think if that can happen what else could happen.
This is a great tie in which is mostly has a self contained story similar to the Batman series, it looks to build on the momentum created here and if it follows through with that momentum it could be one of the best tie ins of the series.

    Reverse Flash #1

After reading the first two issues of Flashpoint Reverse Flash is set as a contender as the mastermind of the world of Flashpoint, in this issue we get to see how he wants to ruin Flash to get his revenge.
Reverse Flash wants to end Flash in whatever way he can but he is biding his time looking for the right moment in time to strike. Through this, some interesting things occur such as he cannot stop Barry becoming Flash because it would cause Reverse Flash to not existent so he needs to find another way to destroy Barry Allen.
I will admit the first time reading it through it went a little over my head, trying to get things clear of what exactly is going, are these things creating the Flashpoint universe? I think it leaves it open with the possibility of Reverse Flash playing a part in it but my guess he is only part of the puzzle.
It is a good issue that is worth picking up that could lead to some major revelations in the future so keep and eye out for this.

Lois Lane and the Resistance #1

This issues really struggles to gain any sort of momentum, to put it bluntly not a lot happens here that we haven’t already seen in the main Flashpoint series or one of the many tie ins. While it does give a background for Lois I that could have been handled better, the issue spends the whole time laying the groundwork for Lois Lane becoming part of the Resistance, switching back and forth between the present and past. Because of this and the general way it is written it is just not engaging, it goes in one direction and stops then starts a new one without much care to the overall plot. At the end, you are left with sort of an empty feeling.
A number of events happen in this issue but it is hard to care about them due to the writing and lack of personality from the characters that for the most part sound overly dramatic and flat.
Give this one a miss there are much better Flashpoint tie ins to spend your time and money on, for anyone wanting to get all the tie ins for the story give this a miss as literally nothing substantial is shown that adds to the Flashpoint universe.

    The Outsider #1

This is intriguing, the more I think about it the more I like it, featuring a nice blend of back-story for the Outsider, action and dialogue it is solid throughout. It links into Flashpoint #1 where Cyborg is trying to create a team with the likes of Batman, Green Lantern etc. The story is fun and the inclusion of The Outsider adds an unpredictable element to Flashpoint series, I particularly liked the dialogue for the Outsider who gives off this tone of being someone is very smart yet very cool and collected. If anything, he fees like a blend of Black Mask and Lex Luthor.
Solid issue that holds a lot of potential for the future, give this issue a chance if you are looking for something a little different though I don’t think it’s for everyone.
