Utilizing Kinect: Wrestling Games

Kinect just launched and developers are still getting their heads around the technology and how it might be best used in games. An idea I have had is a way of implementing Kinect in a way that can add to a gaming experience without using it strictly for gameplay or menu navigation, thinking outside the box at the applications of the hardware.

The wrestling genre that is one that could benefit from the addition of Kinect. User created content has been a major selling point for years, but what if the user created content could be taken that one-step further.
With a lot of these games some wrestler do not make the cut or a working for another company so it is impossible for them to be in so sometimes so taunts, entrances or winning celebrations for a certain wrestler will more than likely will not make it into the game, but what if the user could with Kinect put these moves into the game?

Kinect can recognize a users body movement so it could be possible for Kinect to record that body movement so it could be used in game from a save file. This could essentially mean at home motion capture all be it not at the level of professional motion capture but as a create feature in could be viable.
This sort of motion capture could be used for a wrestlers taunt or entrance, even with the entrance walking would not be possible, but using some templates for lower body movement and then setting the path it would solve that problem, so the user could then act out an entrance of their favourite wrestler or a creation of their own.

Another part of Kinect is the ability to take images, now for a game component based on creation this opens up some great possibilities. For creating a wrestler, it would be possible to take an image of your face that could be used as a texture for your wrestler. Another option is using Kinect for textures or designs that could be put into the game for example scanning in a logo for and older wrestler or one from another company this could be simply focusing on a shirt design or holding up an image for the Kinect to scan. This sort of thing could be intertwined with say a company like WWE so if someone goes to an event and picks up a shirt, when they get home they could scan in a tag which would update an in game wrestler to their current look or it could unlock that shirt.

Now this form of new user created content could be applied to a number of different genres it is not restricted to purely the wrestling genre.
